HR PAYROLL & BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR
- Unity Builders Group (UBG Builders Inc.): Calgary
Description:
This is a part time position - 21 to 30 hours a week. Reporting to Grant Larson, Director,
Human Resources, the HR Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for timely and accurate
payroll processing and administration, benefits administration, and providing HR support.
The successful applicant must be comfortable dealing with a 300+ person multi-site and multi-national

Responsibilities:
- Prepare, input, audit, and correct all payroll through an automated payroll system
on a bi-monthly pay cycle for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees.
- Complete Records of Employment and ensure all Government filings and remittances
relative to payroll are made in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, salary/wage increases, etc.
- Monitor and reconcile benefits, garnishees, promissory notes, and other deductions.
- Preparation and reconciliation of year-end reports.
- Report on all current and/or changing government legislation with respect to payroll and benefits.
- Administer group benefit plans, which include: setting up new employees and removing terminated
employees; regular support, communications, and training of employees so that they can fully utilize
our benefits; and preparing monthly billings and payroll deductions/contributions for employees.
- Participate in various external salary surveys and compile surveys into an annual salary survey.
- Provide recommendations around E-Compensation module in Halogen (use and roll-out strategy).
- Support and participate in New Employee Orientation training as well as other training programs.
- Provide UBI (our UBG intranet) with initial documentation of policies and continual maintenance.
- Manage and store resumes.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of strategic HR initiatives such as succession planning
and UBGU (UBG's internal Training Programme).
- Ensure all employee files are up-to-date, accurate and aligned with all privacy legislation.
- Provide ongoing recommendations for improvements to all HR and related employee processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience with payroll processes and/or other automated systems.
- Interest in benefits administration.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
- The ability to work under strict deadlines with accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills including high attention to detail.
- Strong team player, capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Able to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy and good judgment.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Post-secondary education would be an asset.

WARRANTY TECHNICIAN

Description
Reporting to the Warranty Manager, the Warranty Technician provides Warranty service to
Greenboro Estate Homes customers in the initial year of occupancy and occasional goodwill
gestures on solving problems after first year. The successful candidate will have excellent
customer service/relationship building and communication skills, the ability to multi-task
and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- To develop, maintain and improve customer satisfaction and goodwill and to promote
Greenboro Estate Homes to ensure continued improvement in customer relations.
- To be responsible for the supervision of service work by all suppliers and trade
partners in his area. He/she takes full responsibility for the quality and efficiency
of this work and reports any deficiencies to the Warranty and Construction Managers.
- To be responsible for all Warranty work in his/her area and strives to ensure all work,
other than emergencies, is completed within 10 working days.
- Relay the appropriate emergency calls to Trades and/or Suppliers for their handling,
and follow up that problem is corrected.
- To complete the servicing on homes in his area at a cost, within the allotted budget
amount, in all normal circumstances, and pass along any trade related costs to the
appropriate trade/supplier.
- Ensure that all work being performed is done in a safe manor.
- To do follow ups with Homeowners, suppliers and trade partners.
- To keep records to assist in performing his/her work.

AREA MANAGER

Description:
Reporting to VP Sales & Marketing, the Area Manager is responsible for managing sales
and clients in an Elite/Todays Community.
Responsibilities
- Establish annual sales goals and objectives based on Corporate goals, and agreed upon
by the VP Sales and Marketing.
- Train and hire Sales Associates/Hostesses where appropriate, providing guidance and
support on an on-going basis.
- Greet prospects in a courteous manner and invite them to inspect show homes. Provide
prospects with the necessary information to assist them in their house purchase decision.
- Total familiarity with the products and programmes of the Company to share readily
with customers and respond to customer questions or concerns.
- Ensure the subdivision is open each day for the scheduled hours.

- Administer and facilitate the writing of Purchase Agreements within the company's

- A comprehensive understanding of the Architectural Controls required in the community
in which you are working.
- Care and maintenance of all model homes as well as the Sales Centre Office.
- Maintain the necessary records for each transaction from the date of sale to the close.
- Have an awareness and knowledge of the community services and programs important to
potential purchasers such as schools, churches, shopping centres etc.
- Participation in regular staff meetings and seminars that are held for the benefit of
the entire sales staff to maintain open communication between the various departmental operations.

Description:
Reporting to the VP, Investments, the Investment Sales Account Manager will be responsible
for selling Unity Investments' products, initiating contacts, maintaining existing contacts and

Responsibilities
- Contacting prospective clients by phone and e-mail utilizing an existing database of
names and addresses.
- Establish contact and relationships with referral sources and centres of influence
with respect to private Wealth Management/Investment.

from our sister companies.

Skills Required

INVESTMENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

Description:
Reporting to the Vice President, Investments, the Investment Services Coordinator will play an
integral role in Unity Investments' investor relations, regulatory compliance and overall investment
objectives. This role interacts closely with Unity Investments' sales team, UBG's Finance Department,
external legal counsel, and Investors.
The Investment Services Coordinator will be the primary custodian of all investor files and
data pertaining to existing and prospective investors, and the primary administrative contact for
the company. Interaction with, and support of the sales team (providing support with direct
mailings, planning and organization of special events, supporting marketing initiatives including
advertising and other investor relationship activities) will be key components of this role.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Marketing Administration - 50%
- With input from the VP and sales team, prepare and distribute Investment packages,
letters to Investors, and quarterly newsletters;
- Working with the VP, coordinate the creation of marketing material, and advertising,
liaising with Red Dot Creative Services and external advertising sources; obtain costs for
services and process invoices for payment;
- Coordinate periodic information updates of the company website;
- Plan and organize special events and other investor relationship activities;
- Book sales and team meetings, photocopying, arrange couriers, etc.
Administration/Legal and Regulatory Compliance - 50%
- Create, update and maintain all investor files, adhering to regulatory requirements;
- Ensure Communications calendar and Administration calendar are up to date;
- Track the life cycle of syndicated projects, ensuring documentation and signatures are
obtained within set timelines;
- Ensure quarterly mailing of interest cheques, working with UBG's Finance team to ensure
timelines are met;
- Ensure all investor databases (Technicost and Contact Management system) are up to date
and accurate;
- Adhere to policies and procedures within Unity Investments and UBG.
Skills Required
- Minimum three years' experience in Administration.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to interact with all
levels of the organization and Investors.
- Creative problem solver; willing to share ideas.
- Advanced MS Office skills including mail merges, development of Excel
spreadsheets and PowerPoint Presentations.
- Demonstrated experience with managing databases.
- Excellent attention to detail; exceptional proof-reading ability.
- Self-directed, enjoys taking ownership and accountability for the role.
- Proven experience working with, and meeting, tight timelines.
- Pro-active and determined.
Education
- Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration/Office Administration is an asset.
- Willingness to enroll in the Canadian Securities Course.
